Age 81, died suddenly on April 21, 2020 at his home. He was born June 22, 1938 in Cairo, Illinois. He called Cleveland his home for 59 years after coming to WKYC-TV to work as a film editor for NBC in 1961. A member of the news department for 39 years, he received an Emmy in the 70’s. Nick led an active creative life and spiritual life and was an inspiration to many. A self-taught photographer, he had his first exhibition at the age of 76 when his eldest daughter discovered his archived negatives from the 50’s. He loved photography, art, music, theatre, philosophy, theology, baking, and reading. He proudly served as a Deacon at Church of the Good Shepherd in Brooklyn, Ohio.

He was married to Rita Ann Malaska for 50 years; beloved father to his three girls: Shari (John W Carlson), Tracey (John Canale), and Nicki (Anthony Lang, Jr.), Michael Wood and the late Timothy J Harry. Cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 1. He will be missed by his sister Joyce Bonds of Escondido, California.
