"Gone But Not Forgotten” – 76 years young, United States Naval Veteran, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Cleveland, Ohio. Loving Son of the late Edgar and Marjorie Hill. Dan will be deeply missed by his two loving children daughter Wendy(Brad) and son Corey along with grandson Cole and fur grandog Chloè; Long time loving companion Linda; Brothers Randy(Bev) and Matt; Nephew and Nieces Mark, Michelle, Melissa, Allison together with their beloved extended families and MANY dear friends. Dan’s green-thumb and love of nature created many beautiful gardens and spaces people will be able to admire and enjoy forever. He had a life long love for water and boating, with an ability to make anyone laugh and an eclectic and altruistic personality that will truly be missed. Dan dedicated over 50 years of service to beautify Olmsted Falls with many notable achievements and awards including Olmsted Falls Citizen of the Year in 1983 and being honored “A Key in the Preservation of Olmsted Falls, Ohio History” by the Historical Society of Olmsted Falls in 2017 and enjoyed giving historical tours of it’s beautiful city. Besides being a long time Olmsted Falls Kiwanis Club member, he was the creator/ superintendent (retired) of The New Chestnut Grove Cemetery, caretaker (retired) of the Turkey Foot Cemetery and was the landscaper (retired) of The Historic Grand Pacific Junction. A Military Honors Funeral Service will be held graveside at The New Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM (7789 Lewis Road Olmsted Falls, Ohio 44138) Followed by a memorial celebration of life reception hosted at The Grand Pacific Junction Hotel in the Historic Olmsted Falls (8112 Columbia Road Olmsted Falls, Ohio 44138). The Family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in his name to The Heros Harbor Hospice at The Louis Stokes VA Medical Center (10701 East Boulevard Cleveland, Ohio 44106)
