BAILEY III, JAMES P.

JAMES P. BAILEY III OR JB, 72, passed away at 1:13PM on October 24th, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio. JB was born on Friday September 13th, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to James P. Bailey Jr. and Virginia Mann.
JB grew up in Cleveland and attended West Tech HS. He worked as a security guard, bouncer,and other odd jobs, He then started working as a draftsman which led to a number of jobs at area metal stamping companies. In the early 1970’s he began doing metal stamping and assembly jobs out of his garage with his kids. JB started JB Stamping on Feb 1, 1973, and rented a building in Cleveland before moving to Brooklyn in 1975 where it is still located. JB worked as a salesman, press operator, tool maker, repairman, truck driver, floor sweeper and whatever was necessary to make sure his company got the work and got it done. He enjoyed the challenge of making everything in the business work better, be more efficient, and getting the most from the great people, equipment and resources of JB Stamping.
JB married Carol Landy in Las Vegas in 2002. JB loved boating and the water from his youth with his grandparents on Lake Erie and Cedar Point, to buying his first 16 foot wood hull inboard/outboard, to sailing up and down the east coast and the Caribbean. He was an avid racquetball player and skier. Jim also was a world traveler from taking a dip in the Arctic Sea in Alaska, a hike in Antarctica, a climb on Mount Everest and a swim in Tahiti. He enjoyed travel all around the world, the USA, visiting his family and especially his paradise in Puerto Rico.
JB is survived by spouse Carol of Rocky River, OH; His Sister Nancy of Houston TX, His sons James IV, John (Karla), Jeffrey, Jerry (Kelly), Phil, & Jason, and his daughter Jill (Rich). His Stepchildren include Valerie, Michelle, Claude, Judy, Liz, George, Andrew, Patrick, Elizabeth & Chris. His Grandchildren include Janice, James V, Jennifer, Amanda, Aubree, Tyler, Lee, Christopher, JJ & Avery, Jason, Taylor, Kyle, Theresa, Eric, Tommy, Anthony, Andrew, Rachel, Josh, Wesley, Jasmine, James John E, Ella, Max, Lila, Jack, Grace and 7 Great grandchildren and counting. His Nieces and Nephews Sandy, David & Kelly. His Beloved family members, Mary Gail, Bobbette, Susan and Marge. And his many, many friends especially Steve and Tom.
JB was preceded in death by his father James, mother Virginia, son Jay and daughter Janet and grandson Mathew.
A Celebration of the Life and Legend of Jim Bailey Open House will be held at LaVilla Conference and Banquet Center, 11500 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44130. On Saturday November 3rd at 2 PM until 7 PM. Orange casual attire is appropriate.
